What Are Pilates Proactive™ Mat Classes?

Each Pilates Proactive™ class has been designed by Rachel Combe, ensuring her unique style of instruction and blend of exercises is carried through in every class.

Rachel is recognized as one of Adelaide’s most qualified, experienced and passionate Pilates Instructors.

Pilates Proactive™ Mat Classes combine strengthening and stretching exercises to tone the whole body and develop a strong core. Emphasis is placed on developing correct technique, using the breath to facilitate movement. The required focus stills the mind and contributes to the sense of wellbeing that is felt at the end of a class.

Our Instructors are all physiotherapists, who are supervised by Rachel, ensuring clients receive the same high standards in every class.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are these classes different from Physiotherapy Pilates Proactive classes?

  • Classes cost less due to lower overheads.
  • Classes are not taught in a Pilates Studio but rather in churches ands schools. Whilst these venues may not be as stylish, they are comfortable and convenient.
  • Classes are not ongoing but are run in Terms. Class Terms align with School Terms so there will be a break in classes over School Holidays.
  • You cannot swap and cancel classes – you are booked in for the same class each week for 10 weeks.
  • You cannot claim classes on Physiotherapy Extras Cover.
  • You need to bring your own mat and cushion to classes.

I have done classes at Physiotherapy Pilates Proactive before, what differences will I notice?

The classes will be very similar to what is taught at Physiotherapy Pilates Proactive, except that they run for 50 minutes, not 1 hour. Each class has been designed and prepared by Rachel, thereby ensuring her unique style and blend of exercises is carried through in every class. Large exercise equipment such as foam rollers, gym balls and magic circles will not be available; however Chiballs and Therabands will be used.

Who teaches these classes?

Pilates Proactive™ Instructors are all Physiotherapists, who are supervised by Rachel, ensuring you receive professional guidance and assistance to get the most out of your Pilates workout. Current instructors are Alice Adamson, who takes Wednesday and Friday morning classes, and Kate Rozenbild who takes Tuesday and Thursday evenings. As more locations open we will add more instructors.

Can I claim classes on my private health insurance?

You cannot claim classes under “Physiotherapy Extras Cover”. However, some funds provide health/wellbeing rebates; you will need to check with your fund.
